I have now been to the island of Cozumel several times and each time has only been for a day-trip. We have either stopped here on a cruise or have taken the ferry over from Playa Del Carmen. I most recently visited while on a cruise with my husband and kids. We spent the day shopping in town, relaxing on the beach, and stopping at one of our favorite snorkeling spots.
The whole family wanted a little beach time, so we decided to spend the first half of the day on an excursion to Passion Island. The excursion included lunch, all drinks, water activities, and best of all…a lack of crowds. It felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. It is always good for me to take some time to relax and just listen to the sound of waves.
The waters off of Cozumel are some of the clearest and are perfect for snorkeling. Cozumel is located on the second largest coral reef in the world. It’s a place where you can just jump in from shore and instantly see an underwater wonderland. There are many great snorkeling spots on the island but the popular ones can get pretty crowded, (especially when the cruise ships are in port) so we tend to go to a spot that is off the beaten path and less touristy. We had a cab take us to Sky Reef and Playa Corona. These are two restaurants next door to each other located right on a great little snorkeling spot. This is one of my husband and my favorite spots. We originally stumbled upon it when we visited the area about 15 years ago while riding scooters around the island. We spent the rest of our afternoon snorkeling, throwing back a couple Coronas and watching the sun sink into the beautiful sea. We always enjoy our day on Cozumel.
I have not kept it a secret that I adore Kate Spade swimsuits. I especially love this one because it reminds me of something right out of the 60s. I like that it is a bikini with a decent amount of coverage, but still feels feminine and sexy. What originally attracted me to this suit is the fun polka dot print and the super cute bow on the hip.
