Rainy days can easily make you want to curl up under a blanket with a good book, but they can also be a great opportunity to try out some new looks. Here in California, where we average 260 sunny days a year, a gloomy day is sometimes welcomed treat. It gives me the opportunity to pull my Wellies out from the back of my closet and head out puddle hopping… maybe not exactly puddle hopping, more like trekking the kids through the mud back and forth to school. There are usually puddles involved, so technically I still am puddle hopping, right?
My go to on any rainy day is my light weight packable “Tour” Hunter boots. I prefer the “Tour” model as they are easy to pack and take with me when I travel. Since they fold down and are more pliable than the original Hunters they take up less closet space.
My Jacket is by Marmot. I found it on sale at REI for roughly $100. I like that it is lightweight, warm, and cute. This combo will make it one of my staple pieces for years to come.
Gloomy days like this need a little pop of color. My candy apple red Kate Spade bag gives a little oomph to an otherwise dull day.
Finally, my hat… let’s just say if you see me wearing a hat, I am most likely have a bad hair day.
I’m a Bay Area mom with midwestern roots. Born and raised in Indiana, I have always had an affinity for travel, adventure and the arts. Before my days of playdates and homework, I worked as a television host, reporter, producer, and actress in Los Angeles.
